Their rise to stardom started with a dream and a vision that continued straight into 2010. Rum Squad is on a never ending quest. Since 2004, their moniker has been to make a stamp on the Miami Music Scene. Releasing tracks such as: S.P.R.E.A.D's On Deck and You Know We on, Rum Squad isn't far from accomplishing their goals. With the members coming together for one solid purpose, diminish all the politics that the other independent and major labels had to offer. Established in 2004, the founders, Delvin (Boss Hogg), Jean Baptiste, and the late Pierre (Pnutt) LaFortune came together and laid down a foundation similar to that of Russell Simmons and Rick Rubin when they launched Def Jam in New York three decades ago. When the talent was all gathered together, it was evident that the music within the company would spark an unstoppable force. In late 2010, they released their hit single "Poppin' Bottles." Produced by X-Money, the track exhibits a life all on its own having the listener visualize the party life within the club scene and its surroundings. With each individual artist showcasing their own persona and characteristic on the song, the versatile vibe is apparent.
Dread boy and X-Money add their appeal to the hook as the rest of the group describes in detail the idea of popping bottles and enjoying the luxurious life within that atmosphere. Rum Squad's lyrical talent alongside the pivotal production X-Money has to offer, the group, as well as the company, has a plethora of anticipated projects to provide all of their fans with. 'Poppin' Bottles' alone has already provided much anticipation behind the release of the debut album as the track within itself has made a huge impact upon the streets and the underground scene.
